Review: TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2 (Nintendo Switch)

A few months ago I reviewed TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2. The review was based on the Xbox One version I got from the developers. In the review, I already included the future release on the Nintendo Switch. With the release of the Switch version, the developer was kind enough to send us another code to show of how the game looks on Nintendo Switch.

Game is unaltered

First up, the original game and gameplay are in no way altered for this version. So I still stand behind everything I wrote in the original review. The game is hyper-realistic and sometimes felt a bit unfair. I liked the challenge though. Getting good at something that first feels impossible is something I can really strive for but might not be fun for you.

Graphics look good

As I mentioned in my original review, the graphics looked great with some obvious flaws. Choices were made to make the sunset and the surroundings look stunning. On the other hand, pixels can be seen on the graphics found around the course… Since you’ll be racing super fast you’ll probably will not notice these “pixels” all that much anyway. The Nintendo Switch version has the same flaw but overall looked great. I included some handheld footage to further prove this point. Do watch until the end to see some of my greatest crashes. I can assure you I crashed about a trillion times while making this footage.

Conclusion

TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2 Nintendo Switch edition is a very nice port. I’m amazed at the way the Nintendo Switch handles these types of graphics with no apparent hiccups. Great job on the conversion!
