Every fisherman likes to admire his trophies. Some release their fish, other stuff, and hang them on their walls. In Fishing Universe Simulator you can exactly do the same! Decide yourself what you want to do with the fish you catch. Sell? Release? Stuff? The choice is yours!

On paper, this Fishing Universe Simulator sounds like a gift from heaven for all fishing aficionado, it promises a lot of different edit options like bait, fishing rods and a whole assortment of other equipment. On top of which you get tons of new locations and tons of fishes to catch.
On paper, this game looks great, it has all the signs of being a great fishing game but sadly, the second you start the tutorial, it becomes quite clear that this game is quite bad. It took me a while to just catch my second fish. I could not get that indicator to turn green, allowing me to catch the fish. I gave the Switch to my godchild who was visiting and he failed to get it within 5 attempts. For a tutorial, that is more than bad. Tutorials are meant to be guides on how to play the game, not to be a source of annoyance.
So while the basic mechanics are hard to use, there is a clear path to follow after all. Catch fish, earn cash and buy more gear. Sadly this game never got me hooked for long enough. I do always try to give my fullest to review games properly, but honestly, at not a single point during my gameplay was I interested enough to keep playing for myself.
Sure, I kept playing but for the wrong reasons, I was playing because it was my job to review the game. A bad game at that. It plays anything but smooth. I am aware of this sport being a game of patience and skills, but I never mustered the patience nor the skills to play this one to the end.
In conclusion, Fishing Universe Simulator is in my personal opinion a bad game, I disliked its pace, its game mechanics and aside from the basic current gen graphics, I doubt I found any aspect of this game truly enjoyable.
