Relaxing puzzle with beautiful graphics and unique rules inspired by Sudoku.
Immerse yourself in the beautiful world of Hexologic. Solve challenging, yet rewarding puzzles, listen to relaxing music, dive deep into the game’s atmosphere and fall in love with sudoku again!
Hexologic is very easy to learn and in the same time a highly addictive language-independent logic puzzle game. Based on hexagonal grids, the game reinvents sudoku rules and brings it to a whole new level. Combining the dots inside the hexes in three possible directions, so that their sum matches the one given at the edge, will be a rewarding experience for both puzzle games’ veterans and newcomers. A simple gameplay mechanics adorned with a beautiful graphic design, relaxing music and challenging yet not unbeatable puzzles, will guarantee long hours of fun for gamers of all ages
Most of all, Hexologic is a beautifully crafted puzzle game, while short at just 60 levels, it brings you a great short experience. I got it on sale on the Switch eShop for a mere 1 euro and I must say, I would love to get hundred ofs more levels in this game. Sadly I only had 60 to enjoy, I really want more.
As the game goes, it is based on Sudoku, so the playing field tells you the total number and being able to pick from one, two and three, you need to make the proper sum and equal the requested number.
As levels progress, more and more numbers are requested to be combined and more and more diagonally as well. The difficulty is slowly increased and you will not hit any snafu in the first dozen of levels. Once you go higher and higher on the ladder, more functions will be added.
One of these are mandatory doubles or mandatory numbers on the field. Imagine your field having orange blocks that are linked. One on the left is also a one on the right. Two, same thing, three as well. So you need to not only look at the one side of the field, but also the corresponding one. This is real fun and equally hard.
In the end, the fields have both and even numbers up to 20 and higher. Suddenly, you need to count real high and make sure those two same fields have the same number too. Hexologic is fun and I think that despite its short form, it provides great bang for the buck at the current price.
In conclusion, Hexologic is a fun puzzler with a new take on Sudoku. Easy at first and challenging at the later levels. I regret there are only 60 of which the final 10 provided more of a challenge rather than all of em. I would instantly buy DLC to play more. The short side of the game versus the incredibly cheap price on sale, it is a toughie to rate. I’d say 9 for the idea of the game, deduct 2 for the shorter game time to be had and the great price adds one again
