Destiny 2 had some ups and downs this year and to regain the trust of their beloved community, Bungie and Activision are going all in with their next big update “Forsaken”. They’ve announced some amazing new features like a reworked combat system, new exotics to collect and a new PVPVE mode that’ll hopefully bring back some people into the game. It all looks promising!
At Gamescom 2018, we had a presentation of Bungie explaining some of the new features to look out for in the next big update for Destiny 2. Of course, the expansion will have new weapons and armors to collect, a new area to explore, a new enemy to kill but one of its biggest features is the new PVPVE mode called Gambit.
Gambit is a PVP mode where you face off another team along with some enemy NPC threats. The mode is all about collecting motes, depositing them in a bank and eventually earn enough motes to summon a big boss to your area, hopefully killing it and therefore win the game. These motes can be earned by killing off the enemy NPC’s. Sounds easy right? But there’s a catch… When you start earning motes, you’ll be able to invade the opposing team and harass them. If you collect a certain amount of motes at a high pace, you’ll block the enemy’s bank and they’ll have to wait before they can deposit any of their collected motes. Once the needed amount of motes has been collected, a boss will appear, kill it and your team wins but you’ll have to be aware of your surroundings because the other team can still invade.
The forsaken DLC will be launched on the 4th of September for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. On the 1st of September, people will be able to experience “Gambit” for 24 hours for free before the full game is being released. A great way to sparkle the interest of the people, a couple of days before official release.
