Tech Review: Razer Naga Trinity Gaming Mouse

Are you into playing MOBAs and/or RPGs? Do you think the Razer Naga Hex v2 doesn’t have enough buttons to bind your spells to? Well look no further. The Naga Trinity has got you covered with its 12-button side panel. This panel allows you to bind all important actions/spells/camera locations/etc… to an easy-to-access button in your mouse. That sounds awesome right?

However, there is a catch. When you are using your computer for other stuff than gaming, like looking at Gaming Boulevard Reviews on the web, well then, the 12 buttons might be a bit in your way. Well, no worries here, just click off the side panel and snap on another one, you have 3 options. A 2-button side panel, perfect for browsing, general computer usage and FPS games (because it still is an awesome gaming mouse), A 7-button circle just like in the Naga Hex V2 and the big 12-button panel. All these panels come off as easy as just pulling them. They snap back in place just as easy with two little magnets.

All these buttons are customizable in the software Razer Synapse which is still in Beta. Your mouse will, of course, recognize which panel you’re using and which keys you’ve bound to them. You can save a bunch of different profiles which you can switch between in the Synapse software or with a handy button on the bottom of your mouse right next to 16.000 DPI optical sensor which runs just perfectly on almost any surface. Speaking about the DPI. You can set up 5 different DPI settings in the synapse and then you can switch between them with 2 simple buttons right below the scroll wheel.

The touch and feel of the mouse is just as smooth as the most exquisite Razer mice on the market. The clicks of the right and left mouse button feel extremely precise and the scroll wheel gives an unbelievable precise feedback, no need for overscrolling anymore. The buttons on the side panels take some time for getting used to them. However, once you’ve got it rolling it really does not let down. I myself like to switch between strategy games, FPS games and all kinds of other games. This mouse is perfect for that, slap on the 12-button panel for Strategy/MOBA/RPG, the 7-button for some FPS games and the 2-button for really fast paced FPS games and general computer usage.

The shape of the mouse lets you have a lot of control over its movement. Both your pinky finger and your ring finger have a separate level to touch the mouse which makes it firmer in the hand. This also means that your thumb has more room to move around the buttons. The only disadvantage I’ve found here is still the Synapse Software. It’s getting there, but it is still in Beta and sometimes, fails a bit. This has nothing to do with the mouse itself but is still worth mentioning. However, even if the software fails the mouse keeps performing without issues.

Conclusion:
In my opinion, this mouse is just perfect for MOBA/RPG players (as it is advertised). But it should be advertised as a mouse that is able to fit every situation and every game. I play loads of different games and the switchable panels come in really handy here. I didn’t want to buy a mouse with 7 buttons on the side to then proceed to play a bunch of overwatch and constantly miss click my melee attack because there are too many buttons. But now I’ve found a solution in the Naga Trinity by Razer!
