The game explores the relationship between Sally and her critically ill father. As the game unfolds, the relationship between daughter a father is revealed. Along the way, Sally experiences great luck and good fortune with the help of a secret helper: her father. Having played the game as Sally, the player can then experience the story through the eyes of her father. Through following their journey, you will find dad and daughter’s family tie.

Experience a VERY unique puzzle-platformer, encountering a variety of fun tricks while at the same time enjoying a story.

Sally’s law is all about an awesome approach to the puzzle genre, first up, the story being told is very endearing and I really can not stress enough that this adds to the game. I adore the Japanese audio and how non-intrusive the developers have added the “subtitles” into the game.

The game itself has 2 parts to it.

First is the moving, no, rolling of Sally. When you start the first game, this just seems overly simple. I just rolled her from left to right, the occasional jump, doors that opened for me, … I was intrigued by how simplistic this game was, I did jump into it without any sort of preparation and I felt this game was not going to be something I would like very much going forward unless they somehow added a serious twist to this.

I was already a few screens into the game when suddenly, the story changed. Suddenly, I was able to play with the father. This is when the premise of the game totally dawned on me and I just started smiling.

The actual puzzle game is all about how the father and Sally roll around in unison and in service of each other. As the father, you roll in the world above Sally, you can see how you moved her around and it is now your duty as the father to make sure all the obstructions are covered. With clear attention to the color puzzles and all, it becomes quite clear that this puzzle game is quite ingenious and it just keeps on giving.

As the levels pass, the father also crosses into the playfield of Sally, it is so well presented and this game quickly became my go-to game. I have said this many times, I love puzzle games and especially those that really think out of the box. I often felt this game never even entered the “box” and just does its own thing. In such a magnificent way… The second you hit levels where they introduce bounce mechanics, I am sure that like me, you will just keep on smiling.

I love, nay, I adore this game and I would love to play more and more and more!

In conclusion, we are beginning of April as I write this review and I already know this game is a contender for my personal Game of the Year, especially among puzzle games.

I could not find any bad points at all as soon as I got to play as the father and thus, the logical result is a perfect score for a perfect puzzle game.
