Publisher Doragon brought us this amazing little game, a true Bullet Hell delight with both great graphics and a soundtrack created by the very talented Japanese indie circle called Blankfield. Set at 60 frames per second, this game delivers big time!

You are hit with two main options, to go for either a reward based play or a stylish risk play. The center of your battleship has a little dot, which is the weak link of your ship. Fly closely next to that center and get rewards or just go for mass mayhem.

As this might be called “another bullet hell game” by some, I do think this game sets itself apart from the masses by the 2 unique modes that just cater to anyone, any player of any skill level will find his way to enjoy this game. As I am leaning more towards beginner when it comes to bullet hells, I did experience a fun game, because I never felt the levels were completely impossible.

For the hardcore fans, there is also a TATE mode, which allows for some more intense action. I must say we need a really good way to play like this, I don’t mean TV mode obviously but a way to really keep the switch safely for TATE mode. Out of all the accessories I have seen, I feel unsure about using them.

What I really like about this game, the ease of getting into the game, despite a boring tutorial, you are thrown into the action the right way. I have had other experiences where you were instantly thrown into pure hell with near escapable bullet patterns, Danmaku does it much better.

After destroying the enemy, its’ bullets become harmless and you can just keep heading through them. What sets this even further apart, the 3 basic attack patterns your own ship has. Basic all-round shooting fun, a big beamed attack, and bombs. The big beam is most effective, though it does slow you down, it keeps aiming towards the target, allowing you to weave through the bullet hell.

In conclusion, Danmaku Unlimited 3 does just about everything right to call for the throne of the best bullet hell game on Nintendo Switch and deservedly so. If you like the genre, this is a must try game!

My rating for the game is 90%, the game is just that good.
