Yesterday The Astronauts released the first trailer of their upcoming gothic fantasy shooter “Witchfire”. The game’s trailer shows off environments and ravaging, demonic type enemies made with the Unreal Engine. The developers are making it clear that they’re using their engine for a lot more than previous games like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The developers already tried new techniques like photogrammetry that lets them 3D scan realistic objects and use them digitally in-game.

The game will exclusively launch on the PC and there’s no release date yet but you can be sure of it that it won’t be for the next months. Here’s what Adrian Chmielarz had to say about their new upcoming IP¨:

“The reason we’re launching the teaser so early is simply to let everyone know that we’re alive and kicking, and how radically different this new project of ours is compared to our previous game, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter,” he said. “We’re aiming to make a game unlike anything we have done in the past, both in tone and in-game mechanics,” he said.
