We’ve got the chance to view the game in action on an Xbox One X, Microsoft’s new console in the making aka Project Scorpio. The new Xbox will offer a 4K resolution and is aiming for a steady 60 FPS for each game. They claim it to be the most powerful console ever made. From what I’ve seen of Forza, they might be right! The game looks absolutely stunning in 4K resolution and the first minutes there was a showcase of the newest GT2RS Porsche. The developers were clear on the fact that they combined their forces with Porsche, to make the best resemblance of this sports car and it really looks amazing. This was a great start! The Porsche is one of the 700 cars that can be collected throughout Forza 7. The collection includes sports cars, rally, and classic cars.

On to the next topic of the presentation was one of the newest tracks in the game, namely Suzuka track with lots of sharp turns and a good looking track as well. The 4K does bring a lot to the table to play with, especially when it comes to the visualization of future games. Xbox One X uses all its resources to bring you lots of improvements when it comes to weather effects, improved lighting, better rendering techniques and the use of different car materials. The game also runs fluently.

Forza 7 will have singleplayer content as well as multiplayer content. The single-player content is all about Forza’s Driver Club which includes 6 different championships where you earn lots of experience, currency, trophies, and driver gear. With this currency, you’ll be able to buy new cars and customize them to your liking. You can tune all of your cars, to get the best out of them. The championships will include different races with different cars. Forza also offers a challenge system when it comes to the more veteran players of Forza. In Forza 6, you had the opportunity to install mods on your car which was used to prove your driving skills. These mods are gone but they are included in the other SP- section ” Challenges”. These challenges offer you the same racing tracks but with a twist: drive your car without ABS or suggested driving lines, etc. These challenging races will earn you a lot more exp and credits. Don’t panic, if your driving skills turn you down during the race, you can pause the game, activate your driver’s assist and get back on track, trying to win some lost time. Forza Vista is also an SP/MP feature that lets you watch your vehicle from the inside as well as the outside. Glance at your winning car, as much as you like!

The multiplayer is the same as the previous Forza games.  Join a group of cars to compete within the online leagues. Build up your rank while doing some timed events and take up the fight against players with the same skill or even a higher one to really challenge yourself. Forza also builds further on a good base for E-sports. They’re updating the game as the days come and one of the latest updates the game has received, was the spectator tools. This allows you to view the championship from a whole other perspective. If online Multiplayer isn’t your thing, there’s still the Splitscreen option to race your friends.

Microsoft also promised a lot of support when it comes to “controlling your vehicle”. The game offers support for a lot of equipment, going from your standard controller to a whole set of wheel & pedal system. The support goes even further if you really want to challenge yourself, try to play the game with a Guitar Hero controller, even this is supported!

Forza will be released on the 3rd of October for the Xbox One X, Xbox One and PC
