We live in a world where money is everything, we need money to eat, to pay our bills, to save for later, to buy video games… And to earn our money we need to get a job. The problem with a job is that you have to work very hard and it takes a lot of you time. Luckily for us, we have video games: the best way to relax after a hard day of work. But some people really love their job, and can’t get enough of it. Well, then I have the perfect game for you. Farming Simulator: a game where you can simulate work to play after your work.

Farming Simulator is probably the most famous work themed simulator game. To be honest, I never played a farming simulator game. I never could understand why anyone would enjoy playing a game where you have to work. Ok, I get cooking games and surgeon simulator but working on a farm. That is just like playing Farmville but more realistic and without annoying your friends. But the more I saw from this game the more I got intrigued by the series so I decided to try it. They make a new game every year for almost every platform so how bad can it be?
To my surprise I really liked the game, it is fun to drive around in numerous vehicles that I will not try to name because I will probably be wrong. Making decisions for the farm and organizing everything to increase the profits to buy better vehicles and start all over again. This process got my completely hooked for a few hours but then I got bored.
It’s way too repetitive for me, you get a mission now and then but these are very similar to each other. The town where your farm is located, is a very creepy ghost town but has an ideal climate. Your harvest never fails and it’s always the same amount. There are moments where you get higher prices for your goods but it does not feel like it has a very big impact. You can change between vehicles but you can not get out of them. When you make enough money you can get better machines but you have quickly gained this amount of money and after that, it feels like it’s over. Everything always feels the same in this game and that is why I stopped playing it.
verdict:
I am a bit disappointed in this game, it is a light version of the upcoming Farming Simulator that will come to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch but it just feels way too empty and is in my opinion not worth the price. I hope the bigger version will be much better or I give up on the Farming Simulator genre.
