Indie Corner: Geki Yaba Runner Deluxe

Geki Yaba Runner is one of those misjudged gems of a game you find in unexpected places. You will never play a better 1-button game!

Are you kidding? 1 button?

Yes, oh yes Geki Yaba Runner is about a little gnome on a mission to collect socks for the king. And you do this all with one button, the magnificent A-button. Because your little gnome friend runs automatically you just need to tap once to jump and twice to glide(with some stolen underwear), Easy enough am I right? HA! Think again.

Gliding to get those sweet socks.

How hard can it be?

It starts out easy. Level one is just jumping over some small obstacles and BOOM level completed. In level 15 you start gliding and using water geysers to get where you want. In even higher levels it gets tricky, jumping and gliding are your least worries, teleportation and fake mirrors is what gets you. And it’s hard, but like I said it’s so addictive you need to complete the level or you would feel that hole in your dignity. I mean how can you live without getting enough socks! The king will be devastated.

Trust me it gets harder

Also on android!

Geki Yaba Runner Deluxe is also available on Android and while it costs €5 on the 3DS, it’s free on the google playstore, you only get a few tries on the Android version and it recharges every now and then or until you buy the full game for the same price as the 3DS.

Conclusion:

It’s a really fun game and it’s worth every penny you spend on it, and yeah, it will never be the next pokemon on the 3DS or the Clash of Clans on android. But it doesn’t try to be that, it has its own flair and it’s fine that way, we like it how it is. My advice: Absolutely get it on Android to try it out too see if you like it as much as I do, you can buy it on the 3DS or playstore.
