Today was our first day in Cologne, Germany where crazy things will happen in the future. We attended a presentation about Disney Infinity 3.0 and we got hands- on with the next chapter of Disney Infinity which includes the Star Wars- universe.
The presentation started with the fact that “Disney Infinity 3.0” will end the beginning of the basic Disney Infinity line- up. From now on, the game will expand as new Disney, Pixar or Marvel related movies come out as the developers use these franchises to inspire Disney Infinity.
They were very excited to announce the Star Wars theme package for the game since this version has a notable amount of new features that will be added to the game. The game will give you the oppurtunity to play your favorite character from different Star Wars episodes and series like Star Wars: rebels. All these characters can be chosen to play in different Play Sets, so you’re not bound to the characters that come with the new released Play Set.
The developers were glad to inform that they introduced a new combat system alongside the new expansion. The new combat system has been developed by Ninja Theory, the makers of DMC: Devil May Cry and it really feels fluent. The famous Star Wars characters has their own set of abilities and weapons they can use to defeat their enemies. All characters have been made compatible with each Disney Infinity pack such as 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0.
They will release a starter pack wich contains Disney Infinity 3.0, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano figurines and The Twilight of the Republic Play Set. This set will be released alongside other important figurines and power discs:
– Yoda figure
– Obi-Wan Kenobi figure
– Power Disc packs ( viewable and no more blind picks)
– Kanan Jarrus Star Wars rebels figure
– Ezra Bridger Star Wars rebels figure
– Sabine Wren Star Wars rebels figure
– Zeb Orrelios Star Wars rebels figure
– Disney figures Mickey, Minnie, Mulan, Olaf, Sam Flynn and Quorra will also be released eventually.
There’s also a Star Wars Saga Starter Pack ( exclusively for PS4) which includes the Legendary Star Wars Bounty Hunter, the Rise of the Empire Play Set and Star Wars Twilight of the Republic Play Set.
Other features such as space flight will be available in the game. So you can fly your favorite space ship such as the TIE fighter and X- Wing.
Disney Infinity will launch on the 30th of August on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
