The Odd Gentlemen are the devs and in part 3 of this video series they show how they make the world of king’s quest come alive.
I don’t know if this is done in other games but this is mighty impressive. basically what going on here is the artists paint the environment (leaves, grass, rocks, ect.) on paper, scan it then put the scans on textures.
It makes for a beautiful world which while it looks a bit like the Telltale games looks a bit more lush and the animation certainly look a lot better than the ones from most Telltale games.
