2014 IN REVIEW: News in gaming.

We can’t deny the crazy things that happened in 2014 so lets see what the rest thinks was the most important news in 2014.

Lander:

Probably not the best news for Ubisoft but the leak of Assassin’s Creed Victory was great news for the gamers. Ok, it got leaked way to soon, taking the problems of the Unity launch into consideration but it gave the fans something to look forward to. Victory will be the second Assassin’s Creed game for this gen and that means that Ubisoft will hopefully have learned a lot from their mistakes. Also remember that this game takes place in a Victorian London and you got me all excited. Once again not the most shocking news of the year but I know I just can’t wait to see more of this game soon!

Jean:

For me it’s the first time the new Zelda was announced.

I was so excited like a little schoolgirl seeing the world of Hyrule for the first time.

And when link was finally revealed I kinda got a hard-on.(I mean I’m not gay or anything but I would make out with Link in the dark).

Since I was little I always loved the Zelda series.(I used to sleep with my Zelda cartridge in my arm and dream that I was the one to save Zelda and get a kiss. )

EDITOR’S NOTE: WHILE JEAN MAY BE EXCITED ABOUT ZELDA SOME THINGS MAY OR MAY NOT BE FABRICATED AND MADE UP FOR THE AMUSEMENT FOR US .(OR IT MIGHT AL ACTUALLY  BE TRUE)

New Trailer for Battlefront 3

Michiel:

I hope developers think before they launch a certain game on the market, because there are several games that launched without the promise the developers made. For example: battlefield 4 wasn’t ready for launch and they still launched it. I also feel like the developers should start listening to the community and give them (the buyers) a real perspective of how the game looks and plays like on a certain moment. A lot of developers want to win over their buyers with a product that looks over the top but in the end they downgrade the product in order for them to rush the game so they can compete with the big guns. So my statement to the developers in 2015: be respectful and honest about your game, give the consumers what they want. They have the right to have a good game since they payed for it. Be consumer friendly, put yourself into their shoes and ask: will I enjoy this product I bought? If it’s yes, they did a good job if they say no, you might want to reconsider…

Yordi:

There was a lot of news worthy things :the Watch_Dogs and Dark Souls 2 visual downgrade, Gamer Gate,Free To Play fiasco(the main game being Dungeon Keeper), companies’ Shady Practices as usual, Amiibogedon and the list goes on.

But the big thing for me this year certainly was the broken messes of games that came out(with the worst perpetrators being the Master Chief Collection and Unity).

It got so bad with these two that the companies had to give away free stuff to calm down the masses.

Publishers please use these as an example and let developer’s work on their game with enough time.

Sander:

May sound a bit weird, but the best news for me was the delay of The Witcher 3. First of all, my wallet will be glad to have a longer recover from the holidays. But most of all, it’s good to hear a publisher taking his time to fully, 100% develop a game and make sure the bugs are gone. Especially in a time when more and more developers are zerging with games and first day patches and 40GB patches. Yes, Ubisoft, I am pointing to you!

My best wishes are going to Ubisoft. I really loved this company with the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and the Tom Clancy franchise. But 2014 has been a year with false promised, bugged game, unfinished releases and if they are going down the same road in 2015, I fear it will be their last years. Because gamers don’t forget, and they won’t forgive that easily. I really hope their learned their lessons, and take a good look at CD Project RED and Rockstar. Both took their time to release a game, and both have franchises that are praised beyond the imagination.

It seems most news is really bad and depressing but then when you are at the end of your rope and think the world is a sick and twisted place Kristof comes along with the battlefront trailer to remind you that all is not lost.
