Special: E3 2013 predictions – part III

E3 is just around the corner and every single developer is preparing his “ultimate” game for the public. A lot of new things will be announced at this big convention but there are also some products that need more explanation.

For example: what about games for the next- gen consoles? What about the new features? Will they help bringing their new console to the top or will they go down? We’ll know more later today! But now, here is my top 5 of things I would lik to see happen at E3

5) New and unique PC games!

The consoles had a good innovative run when it comes to “new experiences to play your beloved games”. They went from small resolution graphics to HD graphics, using movement to play games, expanding your gaming experience thanks to the use of new handheld consoles, … etc. Not only did they evolve technically, but they also tried to make a new popular franchise exclusively on the consoles. PC gamers are often left behind when it comes to innovative gaming features. The developers stick with their normal gaming formula and sometimes even improve the graphics quality of pc games, but that’s it! The only innovative thing that happened last year, was renewing the MMO- games with more action-packed controlling. PC-gamers need more new things, and not only higher graphics but also new features exclusively on PC without the high costs of a new gaming rig.

4) A higher focus on augmented reality games!

I know we don’t have the technology of implementing new features like augmented reality into the new consoles or mobile phones just yet but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to expand our game world. Gamers play games because they want to escape the reality, but they can’t do this completely since  games are still being played with a controller and a computer screen. Why don’t they make some more refined equipment like the OCULUS – rift that can help us move to the other world. It’s good to see that some companies are searching for a more realistic take on gaming, for example the illumiroom, OCULUS, … Don’t think “it’s not possible!” because it is! Don’t believe me? Check out the gadget show when they successfully changed the game “battlefield 3” into a real war simulator!

3) Xbox one games!

Xbox 360 was a good console! Most of the games run fluently and there has never been a controller that suited me this well!  Unfortunately, Xbox doesn’t have a lot of exclusives, so I hope that Microsoft is in search of new promising developers. One of the exclusive games on the Xbox one, I’m looking forward to is “Quantum Break”. This game’s trailer looked like something new, mysterious and innovative. It looks like one of the new big franchises!

2) Destiny!

Destiny is the new game of Bungie, who developed Halo. They really did a good thing when it comes to Halo and  they succeeded in making this first person shooter stand out. It had a good SP, MP en a good community system. Of course this was already a big franchise on Xbox and now they’re trying to expand their boundarie with their new console MMO game. They say that they created this new, big and immersive world with a good background story and I’m really curious what’s it all about. I’m a big fan of MMO’s but there hasn’t been a lot of console MMO’s except for Dc Universe online that really succeeded due to the bland story, not-so-unique-features and a lack of endgame. Hopefully, Bungie can make this game stand out!

1)      Kingdom Hearts 3

My first game on the playstation 2 was Kingdom Hearts and I fell in love with the whole fantasy story full of happy colorful Disney characters but also some dark, twisted creatures. It’s been a couple of years since I defeated the end boss of Kingdom Hearts 2 and I must say that my adventure throughout the whole Kingdom Hearts – franchise makes me anxious about the follow-up. They only made remakes of the whole franchise but I want the new sequel!

3 things that probably won’t happen:

1)      More information about Blizzard’s new MMO code named “ Titan”

2)      A sequel to the “ ZONE OF THE ENDERS” franchise.

3)      An expansion of  “Guild Wars 2”
