Super Mario 3D World is the newest 3D Mario game and is releasing only on Wii U.
Fans were hoping for a Mario Galaxy type of 3D Mario for Wii U so why this 2D meets 3D game?
In an interview, IGN asked why Nintendo didn’t make Super Mario Galaxy 3 but created 3D World instead. Why not release it on Nintendo 3DS.
Producer Yoshiaki Koizumi and director Koichi Hayashida said that during the development of 3D World they felt the need to include a multiplayer. On 3DS this wasn’t possible but with the power of Wii U it was.
Multiplayer is the true reason why this game is hitting the Wii U system later this year.
