NEWS: GRID 2 announced

Today, Codemasters has announced GRID 2 by posting a trailer. In the trailer, we can see new locations such as Chicago and Paris. Abu Dhabi, Miami and the Californian Coast have also been mentioned. The new locations will contain beautiful street circuits and small mountainroads, which make the game even more perfect. Some screenshots were also released.

Clive Moody, Executive Producer:

GRID’s back and we’re going to make street, track and road racing exciting again. The core design philosophy for GRID 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama – the feel and personality of the race.

In the career mode, gamers will race against even more advanced AI’s. Codemasters’ new ‘TrueFeel Handling Syste’m is an improvement on the handling of the cars from the first GRID. It will be a system that focusses on a point between arcade and simulation. Obviously, the game uses Codemasters’ online race portal: RaceNet. An exact launchdate is unknown, but the game will launch in 2013.
