NEWS: New Bungie franchise to be Xbox exclusive for a while

L.A. Times leaked the signed contract between Bungie and Activision in 2010.

Bungie left Microsoft to work together on a new shooter franchise with Activision. The first of the franchise will see release on Xbox in 2013.

To contract reveals that Bungie will make a total of 4 new games for Activision. The codename of this upcoming franchise is ‘Destiny’.

The first ‘Destiny’ game will release in 2013 on Xbox 360 or the new Xbox console. This new franchise won’t be a Microsoft exclusive however. The contract also mentioned a PlayStation 4 and PC release in 2014.

The following games will release in 2015, 2017 and 2019 on the new Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC.

Bungie would like to have a major game release each year starting in 2014 however. To fill in the missing years, Bungie will create expansion packs called ‘Comet’.

The ‘Destiny’ franchise will once again be an action shooter based franchise.
