Recently EA announced that we can expect three more DLC’s for Battlefield 3 in the following months. The first pack launches in june and is called ‘Close Quarters’. The contents of that pack were shown in a trailer earlier, but now, we have more details.
As it appears, the Rush game mode will no longer exist and neither will the Conquest mode. In stead of that, there will be a new game mode called Conquest Domination in which you play Conquest, but on a much smaller scale.
The reason for the missing, traditional modes and the replacement, Conquest Domination, was explained by Niklas Fegraeus from DICE.
“We also had to tackle the challenges of bringing our tried and tested game modes to the smaller scale. We understood quickly that Rush, being a large and progressive mode that takes you on a journey from M-COM to M-COM, simply wouldn’t fit physically. So instead, we turned our attention to Conquest. How could we tailor this essential Battlefield game mode to fit our new type of environment?”
