NEWS: Assassin’s Creed III Multiplayer in development

The French Ubisoft studio Ubisoft Annecy is working on the multiplayer of Assassin’s Creed III. Tim Browne, Lead Game Designer of the Assassin’s Creed III multiplayer at Ubisoft Annecy, posted this on his twitter.

Ubisoft Annecy was also responsable for the multiplayer of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. The studio also worked on the multiplayer for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Assassin’s Creed III is set in the American Revolution in New York and Boston between 1753 and 1783. In the game, you play as Ratohnaké:ton, better known as Connor. Connor is half English and half Indian and was raised by Mohawk-indians, until one day, settlers burnt his village down and he wanted revenge…

In the game, you’ll meet familiar faces like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. The map is almost twice the size of the map from Brotherhood. The engine has also been modified and it is now possible to get up to a thousand characters on the screen at the same time.

Assassin’s Creed III launches October 31 for Playstation 3, Xbox360, PC and Wii U.
