THQ is closing down their branch in Japan on February 29th. All employees will lose their jobs. The closing is caused by the recent financial problems that are terrorising the American company.
To be able to release games in that region, THQ will negotiate with other publishers. The problem of already existing titles and official websites is another issue.
The Japan branch is not the only branch of THQ that is having issues because of the financial crisis at the company. At the Australian and Chinese departments of the publisher, jobs have also been lost. The company booked a loss of $ 56 million in the third quarter of the year. This is quite weird, because usually, companies have a big profit during the holidays.
