NEWS: EA is fixing Battlefield 3-bans

The wrongful bans that were given to some Battlefield 3-players by hackers, are being fixed. That’s what publisher EA said to GameSpy. The problem should be fixed in a few days.

The hackers have illegally accessed some servers of Battlefield 3, as a protest against the program Punkbuster, and banned over 150 players of the PC-version of Battlefield 3. They were unable to play the game on these servers. Punkbuster is a program that is installed on some BF3 servers and that counters cheating.

Publisher EA says to undo the wrong bans as quick as possible and to increase the protection to avoid things like this in the future. Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 players have not been banned, because the consoles don’t use Punkbuster. EA has stated that the players weren’t banned from Battlelog, what does happen when the publisher (or developer Dice) distributes bans.
