The amount of gamers that uses Xbox Live is rising. This was confirmed by Robin Burrowes, head of Marketing at Xbox Live.
Since the launch of Xbox Live in november 2002, the amount keeps going up. The expectations in 2002 were around the 50.000 users. At the end of 2010, there were 35 million users.
The release of Kinect also helps to rise the numbers. Kinect was good for another 15 million extra users.
According to Burrowes, this isn’t caused by the games alone. Research has proven that 75% of the users uses their console to watch DVD’s. 72% uses it for downloaded content. Also, the rise of the social networking has helped. People use these options when watching a movie or when they are gaming. As you can see, gaming is getting more popular.
