Report: F.A.C.T.S 2011
Last weekend, we attended the F.A.C.T.S 2011 convention in Flanders Expo Ghent. What did we see? And why should you try to be there next year? You’ll read it all in this full report of one of the biggest comics, sci fi and anime festivals in Belgium.
First of all we were able to play some of the most anticipated Ubisoft games that will release this year. Rayman Origins, Assassins’s Creed Revelation, Tintin and Just Dance 3 were all playable. On the Sony stand you could check out the Uncharted 3 multiplayer and a few 3D games in a different boot. The waiting lines were never that long and you could really enjoy the games alone or with your friends.
But that’s not all, retro gaming is big on F.A.C.T.S. You could test out some games on old consoles such as Atari, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo GameCube and a few more. Interested in games of your youth? Or would you like to discover the origin of one of your favorite games? Than you could play those retro games on the booth or even buy them is they were still in stock.
But F.A.C.T.S however, is so much more than a convention were you can play games. Where it’s really all about is the merchandise you can buy on the show floor. This merchandise doesn’t only focus on games but on manga, sci fi and comic books as well. You can almost find everything you’re looking for on the show floor.
Lightsabers and katana’s were items that sold very well, but you’ll find even more unique pieces on this convention. Rare action figures, dress up clothes, manga figurines, Star Wars/ Star Trek merchandise, Harry Potter merchandise and much, much more. It’s all up for sale on this unique convention.
Gamers won’t leave F.A.C.T.S disappointed because they could buy the most famous action figures and merchandise of the most famous game franchises such as Halo, Mario, Zelda and more.
F.A.C.T.S is also the place to be if you’re looking for unique pieces or unique sellers on the internet. You’ll find retailers from across the whole world selling their merchandise. Afterwards you’ll still be able to buy their stuff online thanks to the site you can receive at most boots. I myself found a very well handmade Link and ChuChu, it’s for these beautiful things you’ll definitely have to take a visit.
Last but not least F.A.C.T.S is also the home of a variety of famous actors and visitors that dress up as their favorite character. Each your you’ll find a lot of people in Coplay on the convention. It gives the convention a unique feeling and vibe and you’ll always have something to look at when your shopping.
Next to the visitors you can also meet some famous actors. Who will be attending the convention depends from year to year. This year you could have met Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and a lot of Star Wars actors.
We sure did have a lot of fun at the convention and we were able to pick up some unique pieces of merchandise. Besides from that we also had a good time checking out old/new games and off course the many Cosplayers. It’s a convention that focus on a lot more than just games. If you like manga, comic books, sci-fi or movies, you’ll definitely have the time of your life. We hope that we persuade you guys enough and we can’t stress enough how unique and fun this convention is to visit. We hope to see you on the show floor next year!
